I used to hate chopping onions for chili, meat loaf, tacos, and other dishes. Its messy, they make your eyes water and your hands stink, and have you ever cut your finger while chopping onions? Ouch! Now I just cut onions in hunks and put them in this chopper and pull the rip cord a few times. What's great about this chopper is you decide how coarse or fine you want your food chopped by how many times you pull the cord. I like my onions really fine when I use them in chili and meatloaf and very few choppers can produce the consistency I like without turning them to mush. This little chopper gives me exactly what I want. It also works great when I'm chopping veggies like carrots and celery for soup or salads.  I've also tried it with pecans and peanuts when i make cookies and it chopped them up perfectly and wasn't difficult to do. Its really fun to use this chopper both my fiancee and I love taking turning pulling the cord. We've never seen a chopper like it and guests we've had really enjoy seeing it in action as well. The blades of this chopper are nice and sharp and the bowl is dishwasher safe but I usually just wash all of it by hand in the sink.
