The handles are coated with silicone so they are easy to grip and make it easier to press the cutter down over the mango. In one easy movement this cutter removes the core and slices the mango so it saves me a ton of time. I love using fresh mangoes in recipes, fruit smoothies, mixed drinks, and just eating them plain. The cutter is dishwasher safe so it cleans up really easily. Also the cutter is fun to use because it slices the mango really fast and takes out the core.
